My paternal results
Based on DNA testing of 48 certified markers, my predicted ancestral paternal (Y-DNA) line is haplogroup R1a.
Summary for haplogroup RThe man who founded haplogroup R lived in North West Asia approximately 30,000 years ago. His descendents migrated into Europe and many regions of Europe. Sub-branches of haplogroup R: * R1a, which is very common the Slavic populations of Eastern Europe; * R1b, which is associated with the Cro-Magnon people of western Europe; and
* R2, which is found mainly in India.
Haplogroup R1aToday, haplogroup R1a is found in the Slavic populations of Eastern Europe, Northern Central Asia and India. The highest frequency of this haplogroup is Eastern Europe with highest levels in Poland and Russia. It is also widespread in Turkic speaking populations and eastern European Fino-Ugric and Slavic speakers. 35% of all people in the Czech Republic belong to Haplogroup R1a.
Haplogroup R1a is directly linked to the spread of Indo-European languages, including English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, several Indian languages such as Bengali and Hindi.
