Since we moved to New York, USA, in April 2005, we have made trips to Philadelphia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the national parks Yosemite, Death Valley and Grand Canyon.
Philadelphia
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is only an 80 minutes train ride from Manhattan. We spent a weekend there in May.
San Francisco
San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in the USA. We started and ended our tour of the southwestern states in this city.
Central California
We drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and on the way we visited Hearst Castle, Solvang, Santa Monica and Santa Barbara.
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevadas, California, covers an area of over 3000 square kilometer (1200 sq miles). The park draws over 3 million visitors each year.
Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon in Arizona is one of the natural wonders of the world. Every year, 5 million people come here to see with their own eyes what a photo can never fully express.
Death Valley
Death Valley, in the Mojave Desert in California, has the lowest elevation on the western hemisphere – 86 meters below sea level. It is also one of the warmest spots on the planet.
Los Angeles
In Los Angeles, California, we stayed at Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, and visited the famous Hollywood sign, Hollywood Boulevard, Beverly Hills and downtown.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is the gambling capital of America. The city is in the middle of the Nevada desert.
